The Group is aggressively working on its ‘Vision 5000’of setting up of pithead based thermal power plants of 5000 MW capacity in the states of Jharkhand (1215 MW), Maharashtra (1435 MW), Bihar (1215MW) and West Bengal (1215 MW). The group has started its project implementation in Jharkhand in full swing and has initiated activities for its power venture in West Bengal, Maharashtra and Bihar which are in various stages of development.

The project implementation of Phase I (540MW) of the 1215MW Chitarpur power project is proceeding at a brisk pace and the project is expected to be commissioned by the third quarter of 2010.

The Group firmly believes that consistent availability of coal in ample quantity and quality from captive sources affects the long term sustainability of the projects and impacts its commercial viability. The Group has thus acquired a number of coal mines from the Coal Ministry, GOI, thereby making the thermal power generation highly cost competitive

The GROUP has a full fledged Power Division comprising of a highly qualified, competent and experienced professionals. Thus by virtue of its highly qualified, experienced and committed team the group is keen to emerge as a leader in power generation by setting up new landmarks in the industry.
