Ferro Alloys

The Group is one of the large producers of Manganese alloys in India producing Hi Carbon Ferro Manganese (FeMn) and Hi Carbon Silico Manganese (SiMn) mainly for European and South Eastern markets. The group company Corporate Ispat Alloys Limited (CIAL) is presently operating a 36MVA manganese alloy plant of 0.06 MTPA capacity in Durgapur, West Bengal. The company is setting up 40MW of Power Plant comprising 30 MW Coal Based Captive Power Plant and 10 MW Biomass Based Power Plant at Durgapur. The latter will be commissioned very soon. Power is one of the major inputs required for Ferro alloy production and thus the power generation will make the production highly cost competitive.

The Group is set to become the largest Manganese alloy producer of the country, as CFL, a group company is setting up a export based 108 MVA) facility in West-Bengal at the Haldia port with an investment of Rs. 555 Crores. The total capacity of plant would be 119,401 tpa of Ferro manganese and 61,406 tpa of Silico manganese. The raw materials, ore and coke, will be imported from South Africa, Australia and South America and the finished alloys will be primarily exported in the European and South East Asian Markets. Thus the location at the port will minimize the freight cost and make the facility highly cost competitive in the Domestic and Global markets.

Group is also setting up a Ferro Silico Plant of capacity of 54,000 TPA at Tashkmur, Kyrgyzstan at a Project Cost of US $ 80 Million. The Government of Kyrgyzstan has allotted Quartz and Coal blocks, signed Power Purchase Agreement and leased land for the Plant.

Group is in the process of setting up an 108 MVA Ferro Alloy Plant in West-Bengal at Haldia with an investment of Rs. 555 crores.
